ADRI WORKSHOPS AND 2ND ASIAN POPULATION FORUM 2019

The training workshop on "R for Demography and IUSSP Workshop on Estimating Migration with R", "Methods in developing sub-national population and human capital models and its application in development" and the Second Asian population forum was hosted by the Asian Demographic Research Institute (ADRI) at Shanghai University, China. The program was run from 5th October 2019 to 17th October 2019. The focus of workshops was improving the knowledge on R software and to use the R software for various methods in developing sub-national population and projecting population, improving the knowledge of demography, mathematics, and statistics, and help to gain experience of handling data. The first workshop was tutored by the Prof. Guy Abel while second one was by Prof. Samir KC. The participants in the workshops and conference were from different countries such as Nepal, India, Australia, Zambia, Indonesia, North Korea, Thailand, China and many more. The idea of workshops was to promote academic communication among scholars in the field of demography.
